On
the evening of October 25, in Norfolk, Nebraska, an enthusiastic
audience welcomed Miss Loup Valley, Belinda Wright, as the new
Miss Nebraska USA 2010. Belinda was born and raised in Scotia,
Nebraska.
The
21-year-old is a senior at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln
majoring in Clothing and Textile Design and Mass Communications
with
and emphasis on Advertising. After graduation she plans to continue
her education and pursue a master’s degree in communications
and advertising followed by working in the entertainment/fashion
industry. She currently works at the University’s newspaper
takes care of a disabled woman, models, and writes for “This
Season” a mini magazine. She also stays active volunteering
with Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Friendship Home, and many other
nonprofit organizations. In her free time, Belinda enjoys running,
drawing, traveling, dancing, sewing, photography, camping, baking,
and trying new foods. Belinda is currently the youngest of three
children of Harry and Crystal Wright who reside in Scotia, NE.
With
the job of Miss Nebraska USA 2010, she plans on working towards
her platform, which is focused on helping young people focus
on the importance of education and believing in themselves. She
encourages
each of them to be a STAR (stay in school, take chances even
if you
fail, ask questions, and reach for your degree). In addition,
she wants to stress the importance of leading a healthy life
style
and being confident in whom you are. She is available for interviews,
speaking engagements, emceeing events, autograph signing, or
any other hosted event. She will represent Nebraska at the 2010
Miss
USA Pageant this May in Las Vegas. Miss USA will be televised
live on NBC.
